This July is heating up and even though school seems to be right around the corner, your summer plans shouldn’t be fizzling down. If there’s one thing Texas knows how to do, it’s summer cookouts- and San Antonio has their own special flair.
If you’ve ever been to a cookout, you know exactly what I’m talking about when I say “San Antonio does it right.” Easy summer evenings surrounded by your friends and family while assortments of meat are sizzling on the BBQ. The wavering smell of chlorine and sunscreen and the taste of a cold beer- it’s the thing of summer dreams.
So have you planned your summer cookout this season? If not, now is the time!
If you need some quick inspiration to get you going, look at this quick and easy video from MySanAntonio that will show you some great San Antonio cookout recipes and how to’s.
Now if that didn’t get your mouth watering and your heart chanting, “cook out, cook out, cook out,” I don’t know what will.
For the best cookout, you only really need four things.
- Friends & Family
- Good food
- Some music
- A sizzlin’ hot grill
So start the word by telling your friends and family that the cook out of the season is upon us, and get them interested by suggesting they bring their own favorite dish! We suggest getting everyone together via facebook so that you can simply create one group event and make sure everyone gets every update they need.
Next, you gotta do one of the most important things that comes along with a cookout. Get the food!
Check out the Legacy Farmers Market and support your local farmers and businesses, while using fresh local products at your cook out.
Located off N Loop, Legacy Farmer’s Market sits open and ready for you to come and adventure through. They’re open on Saturday’s and Sundays from 10 AM to 3 PM, with dozens of vendors ready to serve your every cookout need. From locally grown produce and meats to eggs, spices, and desserts- Legacy has a little bit of everything. We guarantee it will add even more delicious character to your ultimate summer cook outs.
Next up, you need some music. Why not invite that friend with a guitar and have some Bluetooth speakers ready to go just in case you need some backup? After all, you can’t really have a party unless you’ve got something to dance to.
Now all you have to do is get all that locally grown produce and meat together and throw ‘em on the grill. I’m telling you- with quality foods like that, not a single guest of yours will have any complaints.
Get your belt ready to loosen up, because when you get your loved ones together over an open grill and dozens of dishes from each individual’s kitchen- there’s no way you’ll be eating just a light dinner!
