A new month means new activities, events, and festivals. Get excited for March and all of the fun San Antonio events. We’ve put together a guide to get you started:

Contemporary Art Month

When: All month long

Where: Galleries, museums, performing art spaces, schools, and studios throughout San Antonio

Cost: Dependent on specific event

What: March 2 kicks of San Antonio’s Contemporary Art Month that aims to promote and raise the profile of San Antonio artists. Not only do artists have the chance to show off their work around town, but they also have access to marketing support and public programs. Visit some of these artistic spaces throughout the month and see the best San Antonio has to offer.

Morgan’s Wonderland

When: Opening for the season March 3

Where: 5223 David Edwards, San Antonio, Texas 78233

Cost: Adults $17, children $11

What: This unique theme park opens for the season in a just a few days. It was designed with special needs individuals in mind, so the entire park is wheelchair accessible and the attractions are inclusive for all types of people. Go out and enjoy the lovely March weather and take part in the colorful, fun, and entertaining rides, attractions, and activities at Morgan’s Wonderland.

Remember the Alamo Weekend

When: March 6

Where: Alamo Plaza

Cost: Free

What: Take part in the history of the Alamo City with this event. You can watch reenactments, experience what a siege was like for San Antonians in 1836, and witness the power of muskets, rifles, and cannons. Visit the Alamo and the other missions and appreciate the city’s history.

Murphy’s St. Patrick’s River Parade and Festival

When: March 17-18, 12:00-9:00 p.m.

Where: 418 La Villita

Cost: Free

What: Kick off your St. Patrick’s Day by strolling down the River Walk to see the green river and artisan booths. Enjoy being outdoors in the spring weather and buying some unique local products. Then, on March 18, watch 15 decorated barges float down the green river with bagpipes, drummers, Irish step dancers, and singers. Put on your brightest green outfit and celebrate your Irish history.

Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair

When: March 16-19

Where: Historic Market Square

Cost: Free

What: Celebrate the Tejano songwriters, performers, and musicians at this Texas-sized event. With more than 1,300 attendees and 100 bands, you can enjoy days of music, dancing, and fun while supporting the community. There will be five stages with the best Tejano music as well as food and drinks for you to buy.

Paella Challenge

When: March 26, 11:00-4:00

Where: Mission County Park

Cost: $20-$75

What: If you’re looking for things to do in San Antonio, watch some amazing chefs make the best paella in the Alamo City at the end of the month. Dance to Spanish music, watch flamenco dancers, and take in the smells and tastes of some delicious paella.
