Moving can be very costly. There are many things you have to pay for when moving like deposits to rent, fees to set up services, and other miscellaneous costs. Something else that many people like to do when they move is go out and purchase new things for the home. These purchase can really add up but there is a better way to decorate without breaking the bank. Use these tips to decorate your new place and save money while you do it.

Make your own art. Art can get very expensive but if you feel as though it is missing in your new rental, then make some of your own. This will save you money and you can put the art in inexpensive frames for hanging. You can create very simple art, even if you are not very artistic.
Hang a gallery of photos on a wall if you cannot make art. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, making art is just not going to happen. When this is the case, you can hang photographs that you have taken and of people in your life on the wall. You can make it even more artistic by hanging the pictures in a geometric pattern.
Use a large piece of art (can be found at thrift stores or yard sales) to cover a large wall. Many times, people like to paint the walls of their rentals so they can have something other than boring walls. Unfortunately, painting means that you have to buy the paint, paint t the color you want, and paint it back before you leave. That is the case if you are allowed to paint. A much easier way, as well as less expensive, is to get a discounted canvas and put it on the wall for a pop of color.
Make your own headboard. There are a lot of different tutorials to create a headboard for your bed. It can create a completely new look for the room and it will cost you around $20 to make it. This is a much cheaper alternative to purchasing a new bed frame for your new place.
Repurpose furniture that you find at a yard sale and use it in your new place. A fresh coat of paint can make all the difference. Plus, you can find a lot at yard sales in your area. You can bring something back to life and use it in your home for a fraction of the cost of buying new furniture.
Consider wicker furniture in the new rental. If you do not have a couch already, you may want to consider getting wicker furniture. It is a lot cheaper and it can bring a unique look into your home.
Use a thrift store dresser as a TV stand. You can usually find one of these very easily at a local thrift store or even at a yard sale. Even if it is not the color you like, you can repaint it so that it fits your style for the home. Plus, this is much cheaper than paying over $100 for a TV stand.
Update some bookshelves by adding some wallpaper to the backing of the bookcase. This will also add some color to any room and will make it more attractive than a plain bookcase. This makes a big impact with very little effort.
Get a new shower curtain. This is the easiest way to update any bathroom. If you do not like the one you currently have, then get a new one since they are not very expensive. It will bring new life to the bathroom.
Add some new curtains. If you really need something new for your apartment or home, opt for some new curtains for one or two rooms. They will hide the terrible generic blinds and will add some life and color into the room.
Put a mirror in a small room to open up the space. If your rental is not as large as you want it to be, take some time to get a floor length mirror and out it in a corner. It will naturally make the room appear to be bigger.
